FAKRO GB announces significant sustainability milestones
FAKRO GB, a leading manufacturer of roof windows and loft ladders, is proud to announce advancements in its sustainability initiatives, underscoring the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
FAKRO has developed Type III Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its key product lines, including wooden roof windows, aluminium-clad plastic roof windows, loft ladders, flat roof windows, and access roof lights. These EPDs provide transparent information about the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle, from raw material acquisition to disposal and recycling. Compliant with European and international standards EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025, these declarations are essential for sustainable building certifications such as BREEAM, DGNB, and LEED.
Sustainable Development Report 2022
In its Sustainable Development Report for 2022, titled “Together into a Green Future,” FAKRO outlines its efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by implementing more efficient production processes, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and supporting initiatives aimed at improving energy efficiency in buildings. The report also highlights social initiatives, including investments in education, health, and community support, reflecting FAKRO’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
GO GREEN philosophy
FAKRO’s GO GREEN philosophy emphasises designing, planning, and producing with care for the natural environment. The company ensures that every process and decision is made with the well-being and comfort of future generations in mind. This philosophy is integral to FAKRO’s operations and is reflected in its environmental policy and sustainable practices.
